As I was shooting in Davao City’s San Pedro Cathedral during the observance of Good Friday, I noticed a Tagalog speaking man instructing this security guard to throw out a half-naked man who is silently kneeling and praying inside the church, saying that the churches in Manila prohibit persons with mental disabilities and vagrants to enter its premises.

This is one of the first few covers I recorded. I think, this was around 2008 or 2009 when I started to tweak on Adobe Audition and some software which extracts the center channel. I didn’t have the minus one so you might hear some howling vocals at the back. As you may have noticed, I was singing down and upbeat because the earphones I was using that time was pretty cheap.

Like 90% of this recording was on artificial voice because I did not, somehow, change the key. So I had to follow a female’s range just to hit the notes. I was recovering from months of smoking and drinking when I recorded this, so yeah, the falsetto, especially, is kind of rough.

As I was cleaning my dump folder, I found one of the unpublished recordings I did way back 2009. I used to listen to Lemar songs because of his soul quality and piercing lyrics. I intended to record the song to express what I was going through when I was on the verge of losing Carl and destiny has brought me not to litter this recording since I am also going through the same dilemma.

Did I say how much I miss taking portraits? I remember that day when I wanted to test the Nikkor 50mm 1.8f prime lens two years ago and Clarice wanted photos to be distributed of her sons during Christmas. I just cannot remember if I have given her the post-processed images with the watermark on it.
