People Are Vulnerable

I just came from a movie date with a cute guy and we watched Titanic 3D. It has not changed since I last saw it except that the breast exposure was filtered and the sex scene was also deleted. Damn Malaysia censorship! Other than that, it was a feel good movie.

Anyway, all this time I was in deep shock that I finally confirmed that my ex boyfriend, Alex, is currently milking someone.

OK. This is a disclaimer. This is an official post of our breakup.

It has been quite a while that I have been ranting about infidelity on Twitter and Facebook. And I fucking know that he gets my message across.

And so, around latter part of March, I started to fall out of love. It is hard when you catch you partner red-handed doing Houdini's at the back of your actions. It wasn't just once, but twice! I caught him asking for NSA sex with someone who has a poster of an HIV advocate. With all my investigations due, I confirmed, that guy is a poz. The previous one, I knew about it because I became friends with the guy whom he flirted with last year. I-shall-not-name-him-because-he-is-a-good-friend.

So around April 7 or 6 that I changed my status to Single on Facebook. I deleted it on the stream so it will not be a big deal to everyone. Besides, for that week, I have not talked with him decently after our last discussion - when I confessed that the reasons the Phuket trip is a go are; firstly, the tickets are on promo so it would be a waste not to use those; secondly, I am so accustomed that he is around that whenever I travel, he is always tagged along.

Earlier, while I was charging my phone at the gym, I was stalking him on twitter and that's where I found out that he is currently living in Bandar Utama with this Body Combat and CX instructor at True Fitness.

Look, I admit that I am not good-looking. But HOLLER!?!?!?! You know what I mean!

Apparently, that Eric Lim calls him Little Rascal. To much of my IT 'un-ethical' hacking skills, he is the guy who paid for their scheduled Hong Kong trip this June or July, paid for the Russell Peters concert and also the guy who drove him to Singapore on my birthday and paid for their accommodation. And also, the same guy whom he has been dating for quite sometime and has been giving him shelter and feeding him ever since I kicked him out because his parents' house is too far from the civilization.

From what I read, it seems that he just found out that he is HIV reactive this March of 2012, Eric that is. He recently started on ARV. So when people get infected and just started on the drugs, the immune system fights back. This is one of the most depressing parts of the infection, is when people get more sick. So, I will not blame him that easily fell in love with Alex because my ex is a very loving and adorable cheater. Also, knowing the fact that he knows about the medical condition, they still have sex and my ex is willing to take care of him and love and nurture him like a normal gay couple do.

No offense to people living with HIV but Alex just turned 21. A month ago, he has no idea about HIV until I gave him some basic knowledge on it because I was setting up a blog for a friend who was recently diagnosed with this infection. Regardless if that Eric Lim knows what he is doing, the mere fact that Alex gave me two instances of chalmydia/gonorrhea infection in 8 months of our relationship, I so doubt that he knows what he is doing or has a mere thought of what he is putting himself into.

Upon reading his posts, it seems that he fell in love with my ex's cute smile and adorable young face. I do not know how old he is, but pretty much he is older than I do. He recently quit his job as a Marketing Executive and he's starting his own business. In short, REBOUND.

Again, history repeats itself. One of the reasons his ex from Singapore broke up with him is because he was also caught flirting beyond overboard on Grindr. And in my case, the same platform and latter, on Jack'd. Take note: both are gay social app.

A few days after we labelled each other that I found out that 28 days on the day we first met and fucked, was the break up date. In short, I WAS A REBOUND.

This time, in a span of two weeks, he is living with him, feeding him and giving him shelter in a span of 2 weeks. In short, REBOUND.

I am very judgmental when I make fun of people. This time, I am actually more concerned than him over the bitter feeling when I caught him cheating. Can I just confirm that he is a young man who milks money and financial resources to live?

Have I seen that coming? No, right? Because I was foolishly in love.

I had so many things to write on this post but I had to compose myself earlier, or else, this would be too drastic for you to read. Anyway, I shall move on.

I wish you have found love in a hopeless place.

Xlim Tummy of Total Image from Digi

A few days ago, I received a call from one of the couriers asking my what would be the most convenient day and time to deliver a package from Digi. I do not recall any orders from them, except I was still waiting for the microphone from Brio Studio that time, but NOT from Digi Telecommunications. Ando so, I set it to be delivered on Friday or Saturday late afternoon.

A few moments ago, the delivery guy came in. I was very skeptical to see what was inside the plastic because, again, from what I mentioned, I never ordered anything from Digi. If it was a new mobile phone, THANK GOD... but it was not!

[caption id="attachment_5830" align="aligncenter" width="560" caption="Xlim Tummy from Digi"][/caption]

Hahaha. Maybe the universe knows that I am trying to lose weight. Yes, these are slimming capsules to relieve constipation and to reduce body weight. I have not read any reviews regarding this but maybe the reason they sent me 120 capsules of these is to make a review out of it.

Seriously, I could not remember that I ordered these, signed up for a free pack nor paid for slimming capsules. Besides, at the moment, I am finishing the Animal Cuts I bought which actually works very well!

When you google it, according to the Digi site, they currently have a promotion that they are providing 15% discount off when you buy the Xlim Tummy value pack at any Caring Pharmacy stores all over Malaysia!

The Unlimited Flavours of The Ocean (Part I)

Apart from the normal choice of menu that The Apartment Restaurant and Bar offers, this April, they are featuring Chef Rafizi Shariff's greatest passion in culinary, seafood. The Chef Series is The Apartment's latest promotional menu that offers the culinary flair specially created to cater to guests seeking a tantalizing gourmet experience.

[caption id="attachment_5626" align="aligncenter" width="560" caption="Lounge"]The Apartment[/caption]

With the modern spacious loft ambiance of the restaurant, it is nice to dine here with your partner especially that even during the noon, the place is filled with warm lights and you get the feeling of dining in a high-rise apartment away from your home.

[caption id="attachment_5638" align="aligncenter" width="550" caption="The Unlimited Flavous of the Ocean (Part I)"]The Apartment[/caption]

The Unlimited Flavours of the Ocean (Part I) as themed for these new choice of menu, you can get a 4-course meal which includes the amuse bouche, appetizer, main and dessert at RM 79.90++. Also, with every purchase of the set meal, you can also a glass of Frontera Chardonnay wine at RM 15++ or a bottle for RM 75++. If you want to try just a few from the selection, the price ranges from RM 11.90++ to RM 39.90++ as a la carte.

So let us start from the appetizer down to the dessert.

[caption id="attachment_5630" align="aligncenter" width="560" caption="Amuse Bouche Oyster Shot"]The Apartment[/caption]

Fresh oyster with lime and mango shot. RM 11.90. I am not a big fan of clams and oyster. But the way how the mango and lime killed the odor of the fresh oyster rocked this shot! Maybe next time, I will pour it into my mouth rather than a finesse-etiquette use of fork.

[caption id="attachment_5634" align="aligncenter" width="560" caption="Seafood and Tomato"]The Apartment[/caption]

Slow braised seafood and fresh tomato soup. RM 16.90. With freshly squeezed tomato and herbs, this is a nice appetizer. Not the usual salty soup you will find.

[caption id="attachment_5631" align="aligncenter" width="560" caption="Scallops"]The Apartment[/caption]

Pan seared scallops, green peas puree and fried sweet potato chips. RM 23.90. It was my first time to taste a fried sweet potato and it was nice. The fish was fried perfectly, oh wait, it was pan seared :)

[caption id="attachment_5627" align="aligncenter" width="560" caption="King Prawns"]The Apartment[/caption]

Sautéed prawns, Saffron butter rice and young mango salad. RM 37.90. I guess the cost of the shrimp tossed this dish a bit far from your usual budget. Prawns are nice but I am more into protein meat.

[caption id="attachment_5629" align="aligncenter" width="560" caption="Red Snapper"]The Apartment[/caption]

Pan fried red snapper with couscous and lemon butter. RM 39.90. This looks like a replica of sea creature on a sand. The couscous was a mimic of white sand, the leaves are from the sea weeds and the chicken-tasting red snapper in lemon butter sauce was great! This was my favorite!

[caption id="attachment_5628" align="aligncenter" width="560" caption="Stuffed Squid"]The Apartment[/caption]

Baked squid stuffed with herbs rice, served with okra and seafood gumbo. RM 25.90. Did I say that one of two kinds of vegetables I do not eat is okra? Lady fingers have its own way of producing a slimy liquid which engrosses my taste buds. But even the okra was part of the dish or for me, being part of the plating, the squid stuffing was done nicely. It looks like it is the squid itself but with added carbs from the rice and herbs.

[caption id="attachment_5632" align="aligncenter" width="560" caption="Brulee"]The Apartment[/caption]

Rich custard base topped with a hard layer of burn caramel. RM 13.90. Recommended serving is for two or I guess I have just been avoiding myself with too much sugar and fat. But I highly suggested this to be part of their main menu. Not that it is part of the seafood dish launch but the creme wasn't too sweet nor bland, it was just enough. The added vanilla ice cream on top, though adding more calories to it, compliments the mild creamy and sweet taste of the creme brulee.

[caption id="attachment_5633" align="aligncenter" width="560" caption="Buah Melaka"]The Apartment[/caption]

Palm sugar dumpling served with coconut ice cream. RM 12.90. This interests me because this is a local cuisine. I was hesistant to taste it because of the palm sugar, not that it was obviously sweet, but I just had my orthodontic braces adjusted yesterday and when I poked it with a fork, it was kind of hard. But nevertheless, the buah was very nice, very Malay in food profile. Much more when they added the coconut ice cream.

For more info on their branches, visit their website, The menu is available 11 AM onwards at KLCC and 6PM onwards at The Curve. Below are shots taken inside the restaurant and bar of The Apartment at The Curve.

Hanged by Crucifix

Happy Easter everyone! Although this post is technically made on a Monday morning GMT+8, I still follow North America hours so it still does count.

Anyway, I found some interesting shots swirling around. And I am pretty sure that this will make a turmoil to all those Christians especially the most conservative ones. Again, it will be interesting to get your feedback on this as these things do not matter after I believe in no religion.

[caption id="attachment_5611" align="aligncenter" width="199" caption="Hang Me Crucifix"]Hang Me Crucifix[/caption]

It is the holiest days of a Christian when Christ has risen from the dead on Easter Sunday. Several tourist spots will show up as Filipinos practice Christian sacrament of penance particularly in the provinces where they will hoist a crucifix when people stage a replica of what happened when Christ sacrificed his life.

This, somehow, does not stop others from making blasphemous acts by taking pictures on the cross. Everyone has made their decision which one is to believe. But I would say, respect comes first when dealing with such sensitive issues.

So what do you think?

Davao City's San Pedro Cathedral Incident

This picture has been going viral today and the uploader's description on his Facebook account:

FILTHY HYPOCRITES. As I was shooting in Davao City's San Pedro Cathedral during the observance of Good Friday, I noticed a Tagalog speaking man instructing this security guard to throw out a half-naked man who is silently kneeling and praying inside the church, saying that the churches in Manila prohibit persons with mental disabilities and vagrants to enter its premises. The security guard then assaulted the poor man without any warning poking him in the ribs several times using a "ratan" truncheon...I immediately took several burst shots of the detestable incident. Suddenly, an old man with a Bible in his hand tapped me on my shoulder and told me that it is improper to take photos of the incident and that it is also improper to take photos inside their heavenly church. WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE??? Tama si Dong Abay. Banal na aso, santong kabayo. (Copyright: Karlos Manlupig)

NOTE: I opted to post this blurry picture to preserve the identity of the victim.

When I first saw the picture, I was in deep awe! Judging from the shot and the description, it could have been a legitimate incident where the guard dispelled the beggar away from the church. But realizing what may have happened, the beggar has mental disabilities, he might have been disturbing the devotees while they were praying. But then, again, it is hard to judge from one single shot. If this was taken with multiple shots or better a video clip, we can verify its genuineness.

Nevertheless, based on experience when I was attending some baptismal service at Our Lady of Abandoned Parish in San Roque, Marikina, there was an instance when the guard asked the beggar to leave the church premises because she was asking for alms. This is a different scenario because she was asking for money, on the contrary, from the earlier example, that the male beggar was praying silently.

As far as I know, there is no bible passage in the New Testament that Jesus gave money to the beggar. Please help me on this, I have not read the whole holy book nor I have been an avid fan reading the scriptures. This is from what I remember when I was still in a Christian high school. And please do not think I am writing this post because I have decided not to believe in religion. Me, being an aetheist, I still believe there is one supreme God.

So what do you think?
