Chukie Dreyfus Back on Track

I could barely get a glimpse of my childhood memories of me watching the television. Although I know that I used to wake up before 9AM and the 14" inch television was just inches away from me - for me to turn on and tune into ABS CBN for some animated series from Japan like Cedie, Princess Sarah or Peter Pan.

But I remember that our housemaid used to watch That's Entertainment. And I remember that everyday, they showcase different local talents. And there was this young guy who have an unpeculiar name from the others, Chuckie Dreyfus, apart from Tina Paner or Isabel Granada. :P

Me, appreciating people, who go forth for a better fitness outlook in life, I stumbled upon his twitter profile. And I was actually amused how he lost weight and newly shaped his fitness physique even after he gained a lot after he got married.

Chuckie DreyfusHe has his own website, which he rarely updates, I gacked one of his old pictures with his wife.

Based on his blog and Chuvaness', he followed a strict diet and started doing weights the right way. One of these is he stopped eating pork and beef. In which, he lost a great amount of fat and he's on his way to achieving good toned body. Whoa!

As you can see on his current twitter account, @chuckiedreyfus, he has made a great leap so far. Kudos to a healthier lifestyle! And he's also one of the living testimonials that married men can still regain their flourishing youth.

4 Tips to Jumpstart Weight Loss

When doing an intense workout such as P90X or attending any group exercise class routines require intense energy. Successful weight loss comes down to how much intake in your body and how much is your output - while in the process of increasing the energy and calories you're burning.

I have listed some 4 basic changes you can do to maximize your goals without having too much impact on your daily routine and lifestyle:

Do not drink any colored and tasted liquids.

Colored Water

Sodas contain a huge amount of sugar which your body doesn't really need on an hourly basis. Not to mention it contains phosporic acid and carbonated water, which may induce hyperacidity.

Instead of having instant juice or a Coca-Cola or Pepsi, grab a clean and refresing water. You will be amazed how much weight you will lose if you stop drinking colored liquids.

Caloric LabelsLabels are important.

When you're at the grocery, take some time to read the caloric content of the food you're picking. Take consideration if it has high amount of sugar, fats and sodium. Some may be tricky because they will show a decent amount of caloric content but you would be surprised that it one pack maybe already be 2 to 4 servings. So in basic arithmetic, that is 2 or 4 times more on the label!

Look at the example at the left. A pack of this contains 2 servings. It brings 500 calories and 220 of it is solely from fat. You would want to avoid those food that have trans fat because those are very bad cholesterol.  I usually prefer looking at the % Daily Value because the nutritional content of each individual is different, percentage makes it more appropriate in doing your own calculations.

Also, do not ignore micronutrients. These are beneficial not just in your holistic nutrition, but also in transporting the macronutrients. If you can do good mental math, based the percentages from your required daily intake. Usually, these labels are based on a 2,000 calorie diet.

Smaller and Frequent Meals Eat smaller and frequent meals.

If you're used into eating 3 to 4 times in a normal day, increasing the frequency to 6 to 7 a day won't hurt much. As long as you divide the servings into 2 to 3 servings from your normal ones.

Your body needs more energy when you're eating more frequently thus, making your metabolism faster. Besides, you would rarely feel food coma when you're doing this.


Healthy snacks are better.

DO NOT EAT JUNK FOOD. I could not stress how much important this is. Did you know that 5 pieces of potato chips is as equal as to eating a cup of white rice? Not to mention that it takes harder to burn, because you're not just consuming carbohydrates and additional sodium, but also, the fat from the cooking oil.

Munching on healthy nuts, fruits and fresh vegetables are more considerable than overloaded sugar of cookies and candies. Just make sure you're eating these healthy snacks in moderation.

P90X Week 2

I have been tracking down my progress in terms of strictly following the exercise routines of P90X ever since I started. Although I do not religiously follow the sequence of workout per day basis, I can faithfully say that I complete each workout everytime I started it.

It still amazes me that even though I have been doing heavy weights and high intensity cardio classes for these past few years, a week of doing P90x, the program never ceased to sore my muscles. Which is actually a good sign that my muscles were actually shocked after being on a plateau for quite some time now.

You would notice that I had to rest in between especially after doing Days 1 and 2 because I was really sore. I could still do the supposedly Day 4 routine but my body demanded for more sleep and rest. So I had to skip gym that day. Also, in times where Stretch X, Yoga X, Cardio X and Kenpo X takes place, I will be replacing them with the normal Group X classes that Fitness First offer because I find it almost similar to the routine. Which technically adheres to muscle confusion, too.

I failed to the legs and back because of the rest in between. Ill make sure I will do it this week.

This are my two progress sheet for Chest and Back and Shoulders and Arms including Week 2.

You would notice the slight difference that I finally reached 20 in almost all push up routines. On the other hand, I really need to focus in doing better numbers and executions of pull ups and chin ups because my target is at least half of what the presenters are doing in the video.

On my first week in doing shoulders and arms, I picked a lighter weight because I thought it was killing like the Day 1 routine. So my first week was fun. Until earlier when I did the routine with a heavier load, I was gasping for breath and I had to take some 'mini-vacations' while execution. Nevertheless, I finished Day 3 properly except without the Ab Ripper X.

No Other Woman

With the join project of Viva Films and Star Cinema, here they present No Other Woman showing on September 28 this year. Too much awaited vacation in the Philippines, I can actually watch this in big screen - no need for lousy piracy.

The movie stars Derek Ramsay, Anne Curtis and Cristine Reyes. This movie brings forth Anne's acting skills as she struggles for the love of a married man where she didn't actually intend to fall for him. I never doubted Christine's versatility in acting. On the first few parts of the movie, she is a plain housewife and until she becomes strong to fight the love of her life. As usual, Derek, with his much awaited butt sexy exposure just simply proves that Derek does not excel in his hosting, not just even in TV soap, but in the big screen of heavy drama as well.

Judging the trailer itself, the settings and cinematography are superb as they show the contast of plain marriage in an urban busy streets of Manila, to a placid and beautiful by the beach resort, where people cant withstand the romantic environment.

Watch the trailer and be amazed how the trailer moves you. No wonder it was trending worldwide after a few hours of the launch.
